Paint protection film (PPF)
PPF is a clear or coloured film applied to selected painted surfaces to help protect against certain everyday chips and abrasion. Coverage can range from front-end panels to larger packages. Ask about film specification, panel preparation, edge wrapping and warranty.
Colour-change wrapping
Vinyl wrap changes a car's appearance without the process being the same as a respray. Finish, durability and removability depend on the film, installation, paint condition and care. Ask how the installer handles complex panels and previously painted surfaces.
Ceramic coating and detailing
Detailing may include cleaning, decontamination and paint correction before a coating is applied. Ceramic coatings can improve washability and gloss but should not be described as chip-proof. Ask what preparation and maintenance are included.
Questions for the installer
- Which brand and product will be used?
- What surfaces and panels are included?
- How are edges, sensors, vents and complex bodywork handled?
- What are the warranty, curing and aftercare instructions?
