1. Confirm exact model experience
Ask about the exact model, year, engine, drivetrain and any factory or aftermarket options. A general make listing does not guarantee experience with every performance derivative.
2. Describe modifications honestly
Share tuning software, exhaust, suspension, wheel, brake and bodywork changes. Previous modifications can affect diagnostics, fitment and work planning.
3. Understand the scope and price
Ask whether diagnostics are charged separately, which parts or products are included, whether subcontractors are used and what happens if the inspection reveals additional work. Obtain the agreed scope in writing.
4. Check records and protection
For mechanical work, ask about technician experience, equipment and any warranty implications. For PPF, wrapping and coatings, clarify product brand, preparation, installation method, warranty and aftercare.
5. Road use, track use and legal requirements
Tell the provider how the car will be used. Tuning or modifications may affect emissions compliance, insurance, manufacturer warranty and roadworthiness. Check requirements relevant to your car and intended use before authorising work.
